How Can You Pray For International Missions? Start Here.

As a Christian believer, do you ever wish you prayed more for international mission work? Sometimes, I know it can be a hard thing to do because people and places and situations on the other side of the world feel so far removed from our daily lives.

I was blessed to travel to India in 2011. That trip changed my life and--despite the LONG plane flights--made India feel much closer to home.

During my time in India, I got to pray for little ones and adults face-to-face, and I still love praying for specific needs each week for the people of India. You might be surprised to know that India is the most unreached nation in the world. Sadly, there are so few Christian believers in India that more than 400 million people there have never even heard the name of Jesus.
If you're looking for a way to get into a regular habit of praying, I recommend signing up for daily prayer emails from this really great nonprofit called Mission India. A prayer request or praise from India is delivered str…

Letters in the mail!

Yay! I love getting letters in my mailbox!

Two arrived for me recently from the girls I sponsor through Compassion International.

I found out that Rhoda (10 years old, living in Tanzania) is learning about HIV and is gaining basic computer skills. I'm so proud of her because her grades in literally EVERY area of study has improved from her first term to her second term of school this year. Way to go, Rhoda!!!

And little Adelce (8 years old, living in Indonesia) wrote her letter in her own handwriting for the very first time! Some of my favorite quotes, "I've ever eaten banana because I like it. I also like to singing." She told me when she grows up, she wants to go to university and get married. In the future, she hopes to visit Jerusalem.

My "Purity Isn't Popular" Video

With Valentine's Day around the corner and "Fifty Shades of Grey" hitting theatres this weekend, I'm reflecting on the sad reality that purity isn't popular right now ... even among some Christian believers.

A Painting Date!

Dave and I were gifted a night out by my parents at Christmas ... to attend a one-night painting class! We both have an artistic bent, but not much experience painting. Thankfully, the instructor took us step-by-step through the process of creating a beautiful, whimsical winter scene.

We had a lovely time. See our finished paintings below!

Molly wanted to be in the pictures, too!  :)
Here's a close-up of my painting!

Molly's like, "Whatcha doin', Dad?"
