April 15, 2015

Bonny bluebells bend in the breeze
Ebony elk elegantly emerge from evergreens
An albatross ascends in the air
Under brush, a rabbit runs unfettered
Tiny toads topple into translucent water
Instinctively, illuminating insects inflame the night
Flowing fronds of sassafras wave flawlessly
Unified crickets sing an uplifting tune
Laughing, the life-giving lake laps the land.

This poem is part of my April Poetry Challenge. In honor of National Poetry Month this year, I'm writing lots of poetry and posting a new poem every day in April! Read more of my poetry here.
