Adoption Is More Than Becoming A Mommy

Dave and I have so much love in our hearts to share with a baby.

When I was a little girl and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, the first thing I said was, "A mommy!"

But our adoption is about so much more than making me a mommy or Dave a daddy. It’s about giving a child a forever home where they will be loved and taught about God. It’s about giving them opportunities to grow and discover their unique talents and gifts. It’s about building a family however God calls us to build it—even if it’s not the easiest way. There are a lot of unknowns on this road towards adoption. We’re a little nervous, but also so confident that God will provide what we need along the way.

Back from Florida!

Dave and I spent a week with his family down in Florida over the past week. We had a great time!
Sorry we don't have any photos to share ... we were too busy having fun! But here are some highlights from the trip:

Feeding a live alligator by attaching gator food to a string on a stick. (I was behind a fence. It was perfectly safe.)  ;)Going shelling and discovering a beach covered in INCHES of shells. Amazing!Mini golf at a pirate-themed course.Relaxing and reading books side-by-side on a screened-in porch, watching the sun set.The food was amazing. It set me back a little in terms of my #22by30 goal, but I'm getting back on track now that we're back from vacation!
